HEAT PUMP
Our latest product is a water-source heat pump. In collaboration with KENSA, one of the UK's leading manufacturers of heat pumps for flats and houses, we can now offer a system designed for heating boats. Integrating their latest range of Shoebox NX products with our unique design of heat exchanger, heat can be sourced from the water surrounding the boat with no risk of leaks or blockage.
With an efficiency of over 350%, the heat pump will turn 850 watts of electricity into nearly 3kW of heat for both domestic hot water and central heating. With an option to integrate the engine or generator's coolant system to further enhance efficiency, heat pumps are an energy-efficient near-silent alternative to traditional diesel-fuel heaters or multifuel stoves.
We offer two sizes of system, nominally 3kW and 6kW output, in two configurations, stand alone or integrated with the engine coolant system. Our kits include the heat pump, mounting brackets and two or four "floor tanks" to be welded into the vessel, either at construction or as part of a major refurbishment.
HERO
HERO is our hydrogen fuel cell propulsion system for Narrow Boat and Wide Beams. Designed to supplement solar - electric boating, HERO will get you back to your home mooring or hire centre when the sun is not shining.
HERO has a 1kW/h fuel cell and 3.6kg of hydrogen storage. Depending on conditions and use, we believe this will give around 50 miles of cruising range. HERO will support both electric boating and your domestic power by charging your batteries when the solar panels are not able too. It replaces having a diesel powered generator.
HERO is filled with hydrogen gas at 350 bar from a trailer at a quayside. Through our sister company, Network Hy Ltd, we are able to arrange delivery of hydrogen to the canal. Please ask for further details.
HERO is designed to be permanently installed into a gas-tight compartment built into the side of the vessel, ideally during construction. We provide all the hydrogen equipment pre-assembled to be installed by the boat builder or fit out company. We support installation with instructions, and certification of the vessel to Recreation Craft Directive by providing a technical file.
Using green hydrogen (made from renewable electricity) HERO is the future of truly carbon-free, near silent boating.
HYARK
Our first product is HyArk, a hydrogen fuel cell domestic power systems for boats, enabling those afloat to live off-grid without idling engines or running a generator in winter. We have started with domestic power since it is possible to do that now, using portable G20 cylinders. Our next two products are under development for release soon.
